Memorandum demanding three points including resignation of education advisor in Joypurhat

Joypurhat Correspondent:
The students submitted a memorandum to Joypurhat Deputy Commissioner (Joint Secretary) Afroza Akhtar Chowdhury, with three demands, including the resignation of the education advisor. The memorandum was submitted at around 6 pm on Tuesday (July 22).

The demands mentioned there are – publication of an accurate list of those killed and injured at Milestone College; compensation for each student from the army; resignation of the unscrupulous and inhumane education advisor and education secretary.

Earlier, a protest march was started from Shaheed Dr. Abul Kashem Maidan in the district town at around 4:30 pm. The march circled the main road of the district and ended in front of the District Commissioner’s office, where a sit-in program was held. Later, it was handed over to the DC to send a memorandum to the Chief Advisor.

The program was chaired by the joint convener of the District Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and HSC examinee Mainul Hasan Risalat, and was addressed by HSC examinees of Joypurhat Government College Shahriar Hossain Tushar, Mohammad Nafis Waz Zahin Fuad and Shakib Mahmud.

During this time, the speakers said, the education advisor is making new rules for the HSC 25 batch. When a tragic accident happened in the country, he decided to hold the exam the next day. Later, at around 3 am, the decision was made to postpone the exam. After being in a state of shock all day, we fell into a state of shock again at 3 am. Many people went to the exam center without getting that information. We do not want the education advisor for such activities. We want his resignation.

DC (Joint Secretary) Afroza Akhtar Chowdhury said that the students have submitted a memorandum. She said that it will be sent to the office of the Chief Advisor.
