In a landmark initiative to enhance corporate leadership capacity, City Bank has entered into a strategic partnership with the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, to launch an Executive Leadership Development Program. The agreement was formally signed at IBA premises in the capital on Monday.

This collaboration marks the first time in Bangladesh that a corporate institution has teamed up with IBA to design and implement a leadership training program specifically tailored for emerging and senior organizational leaders.

The agreement was signed by Mashrur Arefin, Managing Director & CEO of City Bank, and Professor Sheikh Morshed Jahan, Director (in charge) of IBA, University of Dhaka. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Additional Managing Director & Chief Financial Officer of City Bank, was also present at the signing ceremony. Faculty members of IBA, as well as senior leaders and HR officials from City Bank, attended the event.

According to the agreement, the leadership program will be delivered by IBA’s distinguished faculty and select industry experts. The initiative underscores City Bank’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent and advancing its vision of becoming a future-forward financial institution.

Both organizations expressed optimism that the program will set a new benchmark for corporate-academic partnerships in leadership development in Bangladesh.
