Midland Bank, Visa to launch ‘Visa Direct for Account’

Midland Bank PLC signed an agreement with Visa, a global leader in digital payments, to launch the “Visa Direct for Account.”

This collaboration is poised to enhance Midland Bank’s suite of payment solutions and strengthen its presence in the market, says a press release.

The Visa Direct for Account will simplify payments for education, healthcare, travel, and other approved purposes, significantly reducing processing times compared to current methods.

The signing ceremony held on June 25, 2025, attended by senior executives from both organisations, was presided over by Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director of Midland Bank, and Sabbir Ahmed, Country Manager for VISA in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan.

During the event, Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman stated, “We are delighted to partner with Visa, a trailblazer in digital payments, to introduce the Visa Direct for Account.
