4 people diagnosed with corona in a day in Sylhet

Four people have been diagnosed with corona in Sylhet in a day. With this, six new corona cases have been reported in Sylhet. This information was given in a report sent by the Sylhet Divisional Director’s Office of the Directorate General of Health Services on Wednesday (June 18).

It is mentioned that in the last 24 hours, four people tested positive for COVID-19. Six people are undergoing treatment in hospitals after being infected with COVID-19. Of these, three are at Shaheed Shamsuddin Hospital, one at Northeast Hospital, one at Ragib Rabeya Medical College Hospital and one at Simantiki.

Meanwhile, the Health Department has made preparations as the number of new COVID-19 cases in Sylhet has started increasing. Three RT-PCR labs have already been prepared. In addition, a ward at Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital has been prepared for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. Apart from this, all equipment including COVID-19 test kits have been supplied and prepared.

Sylhet Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Anisur Rahman said that three RT-PCR labs have been prepared for COVID-19 testing at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and private organization Simantiki. Currently, due to low demand for sample testing, testing will be conducted only at Osmani Medical College lab. If the number of patients increases, the remaining two labs will also be used.
