Ports warned as low-pressure builds in bay
NN Online:
Maritime ports in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number 3, following the development of a low-pressure system over the northwest Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas.
According to a bulletin issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday, the system is likely to intensify. As a result, gusty or squally weather may impact the maritime ports, the North Bay, and adjacent coastal regions.
All fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay have been urged to stay close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
