Shewly Shila overjoyed at biggest achievement of acting career

She has had the opportunity to work in several good story based dramas and has also acted in some good movies.
She has acted in the movie of the current superstar Shakib Khan. She played the role of Shakib Khan’s sister in the movie ‘Prem Koyedi’ directed
by late director MB Manik. She is actress Shewly Shila.
Although Shewly Shila was born in Cumilla, she grew up on Bailey Road in Dhaka. She is daughter of Md Rafiqul Islam and late Nurjahan Begum. Her mother died in 2023.
Shila had been devastated since her mother died. She was further devastated by the fact that her best friend in the media, by whom, considered her an older sister, the actress who guided her like a guardian, that untimely passing away actress Homayra Himu.
Himu’s deathbed deeply saddens Shila. Because of this, at one point Shila became irregular in her acting.
But her husband, Jewel, gave her a lot of mental inspiration.
Shila became a regular in acting again.
Not only that, Jewel also gave her the courage to take part in the Actors’ Equity Bangladesh Elections 2025-2028.
That is why Shila was running as an executive member in this year’s election.
In the election results, Shila won as an executive member post with the third highest number of votes (432).
She is the only woman to win the position of executive member in this election. But for Shila, winning the election was like a dream come true.
While talking in this regard, Shewly Shila told this correspondent, “For me, the biggest achievement in my acting career was winning the election as an executive member. I will forever remember the love and respect that artistes have given me. I’m truly impressed and amazed that an ordinary artiste like me has been given the responsibility to turn me into an important person. I’m sincerely grateful to everyone at the Actors’ Equity Bangladesh. I will work with all my heart and soul for Equity and its members.”
Shewly Shila came into the spotlight as a model in the song ‘Amar Swapnogulo Keno Emon Swapno Hoy’ by the country’s talented musician Agun.
Shila was also praised for her performance in Hasan Jahangir’s series ‘Boyra Poribar’.
