Ishwardi Correspondent :

Artificial Insemination (AI) technicians under the Department of Livestock Services staged a protest and formed a human chain in front of the District Breeding Officer’s Office in Ishwardi on Wednesday noon, pressing a 7-point demand, including the payment of 20 months’ pending salaries.

The demonstration began with a protest march followed by a human chain, presided over by Nurul Islam, President of the AI Technicians’ Association, Pabna District. The programme was conducted by the association’s General Secretary, Rezaul Karim.

Speakers at the event expressed their frustration and anger over the prolonged salary crisis, terming their situation “inhumane and unacceptable.”

“There are no other professions in the world where people work for years without pay. We have not received our salaries for 20 months,” said one protester.

“We work tirelessly in harsh weather, under the scorching sun and rain, to ensure the supply of milk and eggs across the country.
