Governing post-revolutionary state not easy: Adviser

NN Online:
Law Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul has acknowledged certain failures in governing the country but stated that managing state affairs in a post-revolutionary situation is not an easy task.
On Monday (February 24) at 11:00 AM, he made these remarks while addressing journalists before attending a workshop titled “Law Enforcement with Emphasis on Human Rights and the Environment in the Changing Context of the Country.” The event, organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs, was held at the PTI Auditorium in Rajshahi, where he attended as the chief guest.
Dr. Nazrul emphasised that there is no room for complacency regarding the country’s law and order situation. “At times, it has improved, but at other times, it has worsened significantly. The interim government is working with a nearly collapsed police force, judiciary, and administration. Although some remnants of the fallen fascist regime have fled, many still remain in the country, holding vast amounts of money and malicious intentions. Despite efforts to stabilize the situation, challenges persist,” he stated.
He further added, “The government is making relentless efforts to overcome law enforcement failures. We are committed to restoring stability and continuously seeking new approaches to improve the situation.”
The workshop was attended by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam, Attorney General Mohammad Asaduzzaman, Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal Tazul Islam, as well as district and divisional-level judges, public prosecutors, additional public prosecutors, district and upazila administrators, and police officials from the Rajshahi Division.
