‘Amin Jute Mills can produce bags alternative to polythene’

If the state-owned Amin Jute Mills is reopened, it will be possible to produce bags as an alternative to polythene, said CCC Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain.
Jute bags will be environmentally friendly and helpful in reducing the use of non-biodegradable polythene. The mayor expressed this hope while visiting the closed factory of Amin Jute Mills in Sholashahar of the city on Friday.
The mayor said that Amin Jute Mills Limited is a heavy industrial enterprise located in Chattagram district. It is one of the main jute mills among the 10 institutions in the Chattagram region out of 26 mills under the state-owned Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation. Ziaur Rahman Zia, Fakhrul Islam Shaheen, Akbar HossainManik, Md. Abdul Awal and others were present at the time.
