Dhanmondi 32 in flames as protests escalate

Thousands of students and protesters gather at the abandoned Bangabandhu Memorial Museum on Dhanmondi 32, forcibly breaking its gates and vandalising the premises on Wednesday evening. The demonstration, part of a pre-announced ‘Bulldozer Procession,’ was driven by public outrage over former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s planned speech, organised by the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League. Later, the museum was set ablaze. In response, security around Dhanmondi 32 was heightened.
