CCC mayor inaugurates Islamic monument in Ctg

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain inaugurated an Islamic monument in front of the traditional Oli Khan Mosque in Chawkbazar on Thursday (23 Jan). Considering its historical and religious importance, this monument will be a special landmark for the locals.

The cost of constructing this 25-foot-high monument has been estimated at 35 lakh. Oli Khan Mosque, built by the Mughals in Ward No. 16 of Chawkbazar, is a very old mosque.

There is a dome on top of the Islamic monument structure. Calligraphy of theKalima has been done below it.

At the inauguration ceremony, the mayor said, “Oli Khan Mosque is one of the traditional mosques of Chattagram.
This very old mosque is not just a structure, it is a symbol of our heritage and history.

Present on the occasion were Chief Engineer Mohammad Abul Kashem, PD MD Anisur Rahman of the project titled ‘Aovaya Airport Road and various road development and important infrastructure development’ of Chattagram City Corporation (CCC), Engineer Jasim Uddin, Executive Engineer Ashiqul Islam, Engineer Mohammad Ali, Salauddin Kaiser Lavu, MA Halim Bablu, Metropolitan BNP leader Yasin Chowdhury Liton, Kamrul Islam, along with CCC officials and employees and leaders of BNP and allied organisations.
