Sammilito Islami Bank holds 10th board meeting

Sammilito Islami Bank PLC, a state-owned shariah-based bank, held its 10th board meeting at Exim Bank Tower in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Quazi Shairul Hassan, chairman of the bank, presided over the meeting, according to a press release.
The meeting reviewed the overall status and activities of the bank and discussed various measures to strengthen its operations and ensure sustainable growth.
The board also discussed a number of initiatives aimed at taking the bank forward.
Several investment proposals were also placed before the meeting for approval following detailed discussion and consideration.
Hafiz Ahmed Chowdhury, director and secretary of the Legislative Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Mohd Rashedul Amin, director and joint secretary of the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance; and Sheikh Farid, director and joint secretary of the Financial Institutions Division, attended the meeting.
Lt Col (retd) Md Khan Sobayel Bin Rafiq, Asma Akhter, KM Zakaria and Mohammed Ahsan Habib Chowdhury, directors of Sammilito Islami Bank PLC; Abedur Rahman Sikder, managing director; Mohammad Abul Hashem, administrator of Union Bank PLC; Md Muksuduzzaman, administrator of Global Islami Bank PLC; and Md Monirul Islam, company secretary (current charge) of Sammilito Islami Bank PLC, were also present at the meeting.
