12 hurt in Bhairab BNP factional clashes

At least 12 people were injured in a factional clash between two groups of BNP in Bhairab of Kishoreganj on Saturday, after one leader was called a ‘hybrid’ and the other a ‘real’ BNP leader.
The incident took place at Uttarpara, Chandib in Bhairab port town in the afternoon.
The injured were admitted to Bhairab 100 -bed Hospital, Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital (SSNIMCH) and private clinics. Several houses and shops were vandalized in the incident.
Later, Police and Army went to bring the situation under control.
Bhairab model Police Station, Officer in Charge (OC, Investigation) Shahin Mia said, The clash was over who is hybrid and who is real BNP. However, the police and Army went and brought the situation under control. No one was arrested in this incident. Neither party filed a written complaint with the police station.” the OC, added.
