Woman killed in Gafargaon road accident

A woman was killed on the spot and 3 others were injured in a head-on collision between a drum truck and an auto-rickshaw in Gafargaon, Mymensingh.
The tragic accident occurred at 8 pm on Wednesday (December 25) at the Gafargaon Asian Highway Bypass intersection.
The deceased woman is Fatema Khatun (52), wife of the deceased Abdul Qadir of Bakhura village in Jashra union of Gafargaon upazila.
The injured are Selina Akhter (50), Tuni Akhter (17) and driver Nayan Mia (45). The deceased and injured are from the same family.
The seriously injured have been sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
According to local sources, Fatema Khatun and others in the family left for home in an auto-rickshaw from Gafargaon market at around 7:30 pm on Wednesday.
Later, when the auto rickshaw reached the Asian Highway Bypass intersection, it collided head-on with a drum truck coming from the opposite direction.
