Ahmed Siam (18), a hosiery factory worker, was brutally stabbed to death by assailants in the Fatullah area of Narayanganj. The incident occurred around 10 PM on Friday night in the Shiharchar Tokkarmath area. Siam was a resident of Pilkuni in Fatullah under Narayanganj Sadar Upazila and worked in a local hosiery factory.
According to some of Siam’s associates, the murder was the result of a prior conflict. Around 9 PM on Friday, several individuals, including Simon, Mehedi, Ikram, Abdullah, and Mohiuddin-acquaintances of Nazrul, also known as Dhopa Nazrul, a joint convener of the Swechasebak Dal-allegedly abducted Siam from Pilkuni near a five-story building.
They reportedly took him to the Khanqa ground adjacent to the Tokkarmath mosque in an auto-rickshaw, where he was stabbed. Later, they brought him back to the same area and left him near the five-story building.
Some locals rushed him to Narayanganj’s 300-Bed Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Siam’s mother, Kanchan Begum, said that a few youths came to their home around 10 PM and informed her that Siam had been stabbed. However, they could not explain why he was attacked. She later went to the hospital and found her son’s body. She demanded the arrest and exemplary punishment of those responsible for her son’s murder.
