The great Victory Day was observed with due dignity in Kishoreganj. The nation’s best sons are being remembered, whose sacrifices led to independence. Various political parties and organizations, including the district administration, are holding various programs separately. The day began with a 31-gun salute at the Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Stadium in Kishoreganj as the sun rose. At this time, the national flag was hoisted at all government, semi-government, autonomous and private buildings and institutions. At 7 am, wreaths were laid at the memorial of Guru Dayal Government College. At 8 am, the national flag was officially hoisted at the Circuit House.
In the morning, Deputy Commissioner(DC) Fauzia Khan, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury, Civil Surgeon (CS) dr. Saiful Islam, ADC(General) Rubel Mahmud, ADM Mizabe Rahmat, District levels officials and leaders and activists of various political parties laid wreaths at the memorial. On the occasion, District Administration has arranged a day-long Victory Fair at local Old Stadium.
At 11 am, a reception and discussion meeting was organized at the District Shilpakala Academy for the family members of the brave freedom fighters, war-wounded brave freedom fighters and martyred brave freedom fighters, while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Fouzia Khan in the chair.
