UCB empowers 150 agri-entrepreneurs

United Commercial Bank PLC’s (UCB) agricultural support scheme ‘Bhoroshar Notun Janala’ has conducted its fifty-seventh skill-development training session in Munshiganj.
One hundred fifty agricultural entrepreneurs from six upazilas participated in the session, which took place at the Zara Convention Center, Maya Market Raytola, Mirkadim, Munshiganj.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, UCB has been conducting such training across various districts nationwide per the directives of the Bangladesh Bank. The training is being held to empower promising agricultural entrepreneurs by providing them with essential skills and knowledge. The fifty-seventh skill development occurred across six upazilas of Munshiganj: Munshiganj Sadar, Louhajong, Gazaria, Srinagar, Sirajdikhan, and Tongibari.
The day-long event welcomed Rezaul Karim Siddique, Presenter of BTV’s agriculture-based show ‘Mati O Manush,’ and Agriculture Information Analyst, as the Special Guest and Syed Faridul Islam, Additional Managing Director of United Commercial Bank, as the Chief Guest. Biplob Kumar Mohanta, Deputy Director, Department of Agriculture Extension, Munshiganj; Dr Nazrul Islam, District Livestock Officer, Munshiganj; A.T.M. Taufiq Islam Mahmud, District Fisheries Officer, Munshiganj; Mohammad Salim Chowdhury, Vice President, United Commercial Bank; and Mohammad Sarwar Alam, Manager, United Commercial Bank, Munshiganj Branch were present during the event as respected guests, says a press release.
Regarding the training session, Syed Faridul Islam, Additional Managing Director, United Commercial Bank, expressed, “We want to empower the agricultural entrepreneurs and advance agricultural sustainability to develop a brighter future for our nation. We believe that these sessions will help the agricultural entrepreneur become self-dependent and apply their learning of modern techniques in the sector, which will boost productivity.
