BGCCI organises seminar on ‘Renewable Energy, Decarbonization, and Energy Transition’

The Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI) organized a seminar on “Renewable Energy, Decarbonization and Energy Transition”.
On 26th November 2024 at Hotel Sheraton, the seminar highlighted the increasing importance of renewable energy and decarbonization in Bangladesh’s energy landscape.
The seminar was graced by Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Hon’ble Adviser to the Ministries of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources, Road Transport & Bridges and Railways as the Chief Guest.
Special Guests H.E. Achim Tröster, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bangladesh and Khandker Md. Abdul Hye, Ph.D, Chairman of the SREDA. Notable keynote presentations were delivered by Dr. Ijaz Hossain, Energy and Environment Specialist, BUET and Mohammad Alauddin, Rector of BPMI.
Panel discussants are Mohammad Alauddin; Rector of BPMI, Engr. Ratan Kumar Ghosh, Member (Joint Secretary) of SREDA; Faisal Rabbi, Energy Specialist at The World Bank; Md. Tanvir Masud, Head of Project, Skills4SE, GIZ Bangladesh. Dr. Ijaz Hossain, Energy and Environment Specialist, BUET moderated the discussion.
During the discussion, the importance of supportive policies and regulations to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy was highlighted
Maksud, President of BGCCI, stated, that the primary objective of this seminar was to raise awareness, foster collaboration, and share knowledge on the key issues surrounding renewable energy, decarbonization, and energy transition.
