Pays fine to file nomination

Mohammad Nayeem Hassan, mayoral aspirant for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has paid a fine of Taka 20,000 for violating electoral code and submitted the nomination paper.
He was slapped a fine of Tk 20,000 for violating electoral code on Sunday by the on duty executive magistrate at national government institute, the temporary office of the DNCC returning officer in city.
Riding a horse cart and carrying festoon and banners containing his photo as a mayor candidate Nayeem Hassan along with his associates, reached the temporary office of the DNCC returning officer, for submitting nomination paper. The on duty executive magistrate fined him Taka 20,000 on the spot.
Talking to journalists the executive magistrate Sarowar A Alam said that Nayeem Hassan was fined for violating the electoral code.
 “It is a clear violation of electoral code as Nayeem came here with banner and festoons which contained his photo,” he said.
Nayeem later paid the fine and submitted the nomination paper.
