WIM Liza to participate in World Women Chess Championship

National woman champion and Woman International Master Shamima Akter Liza will take part in the Women World Chess Championship that begins today (Tuesday) in Sochi, Russia.
A total of 64 players will participate in knock-out base tournament. Liza qualified to her Asian Zonal 3.2 women championship title in 2013. She is the first woman player in Bangladesh chess history who is participating in the championship.
Liza’s opponent is GM Cmilyte Viktorija (Rating-2530) of Lithuania. She will play two games with Cmilyte and need one win and one draw to qualify for the 2nd round berth. If score will be level then both of them will play the play-off match by rapid chess.
