A rally was held in Barishal divisional city on Saturday noon calling to create civic awareness about noise pollution and safety hazards due to use of ‘Hydraulic Horn’ by vehicles. Starting from the ‘Euro Convention Centre’ of the city the rally moving on some main roads of the city ended at the starting point.
Participants in the rally distributed informational leaflets about the negative effects of hydraulic horns at local shops and important institutions.
The programme was organised by Multiparty Advocacy Forum and addressed among others by Moazzem Hossain Chunnu, senior joint convener, AKM Mostafa, Hafiz Ahmed Bablu, members, youths of various organizations, officials of traffic department and officials of Democracy International Bangladesh.
Among others Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) director Ziaur Rahman, Barishal Metropolitan Police assistant commissioner Mohammad Abdul Latif, district BNP Member Secretary (South) Abul Kalam Shaheen, district Awami League General Secretary Talukdar Md. Yunus, district Jatiya Party Convener AKM Murtza Abedin, Barishal Reporters Unity joint secretary Mushfiq Sourav, Press Club General Secretary Zakir Hossain and others, also participated in the programme.
Safety risks to the public was discussed in the rally called for discouraging the sale and use of hydraulic horns to ensure a safe and clean environment, speakers and participants in the rally noticed.
