Rain likely across the country

Bangladesh Meteorologi-cal Department on Saturday predicted light to moderate and moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind at all eight divisions of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am on Saturday.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions,” said the weather bulletin issued on Saturday morning.

Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong elsewhere over the North Bay, it added.

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

However, as an extended outlook for the next 72 hours, the bulletin predicted that the rainfall activity is likely to increase.
