Through his exemplary work, Dr. Badiul Alam, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Narsingdi, has won the hearts of the local people despite his relatively short tenure of nine months. His aesthetic, creative, and developmental initiatives in the district have earned him widespread admiration and pride from the community. In short, DC Dr. BadiulAlam embodies courage, honesty, and efficiency.
In every society, there are individuals who, through their inherent goodness, illuminate the state with their own light. They cultivate a sense of social decency and dedicate countless hours to the welfare of the underprivileged. These individuals shine like stars, their honesty and idealism leaving an indelible mark on humanity. Dr. Badiul Alam is one such star who continues to inspire and touch the lives of everyone around him. He believes that if each person performs their duties with creativity and sincerity, their efforts will be recognized and valued.
Dr. Badiul Alam was born into a respected Muslim family in Mandalpara Village, RamuUpazila, Cox’s Bazar District. Raised in the spirit of the great Liberation War due to his family’s traditions, this influence is evident in all his endeavors. From a young age, he displayed confidence and idealism. He completed his SSC from Ramu KM High School, Cox’s Bazar, in 1995 and achieved merit in his HSC from Cox’s Bazar College in 1997, obtaining first division in both exams. He earned his LLB from Chittagong University in 2002, followed by an LLM in 2003 from the same university. He furthered his education by earning a master’s degree in Political and Public Administration from Kyushu University, Japan, in 2013, and a PhD from Macquarie University, Australia.
Dr. Badiul Alam began his career in the Bangladesh Civil Service administration cadre in 2008 as part of the 27th batch. Before assuming his role as Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner on September 10, 2023, he served in various key positions, including Deputy Secretary at the Cabinet Division and Additional District Magistrate in Chittagong and Bandarban. His career also includes roles as Upazila Nirbahi Officer in Barkal, Rangamati, AC (Land) in Cantonment Circle, Dhaka, and Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate in Sherpur. Previously, he served in the Bangladesh Judicial Service as an Assistant Judge in the 3rd Batch.
Throughout his career, Dr. Badiul Alam has participated in numerous training courses, including the 44th Basic Training Course, 72nd Basic Law and Administration Course, Basic Judicial Training Course, and Mid-Career Training Course in India.
The people of Narsingdi hold high hopes for Dr. Badiul Alam’s future, believing that this trusted officer of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government will one day rise to the position of Cabinet Secretary, the highest-ranking official in the country. If the Father of the Nation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, were alive today, he might commend Dr. Badiul Alam and encourage him to continue his path forward.
