2-day int’l AAR confce in Sylhet

Agriculture Minister Md. Abdus Shohid, MP inaugurated a 2-day long International Conference on Advanced Agricultural Research organised by Sylhet Agricultural University Research Center on Thursday.
The minister spoke virtually as the chief guest that Bangladesh is one of the countries that are at risk of climate change. The country is moving forward today with the welfare of agricultural researchers by tackling various problems.
He said the country’s agriculture is moving forward to cope with the effects of climate change. Thanks to agricultural scientists and researchers, the country is now self-sufficient in food. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman laid the foundation of agricultural research in this country.
And under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, agriculture has been modernized. The country is progressing in the field of agriculture with his hands. He said the Present government is agriculture and farmer friendly. To boost agriculture, the government is subsidizing fertilizers and seeds and other agricultural inputs. He said that teachers, researchers and scientists have to work together to advance the country’s agriculture in keeping with the international environment.
