Economic Reporter :
Bangladesh Fruits Vegetables and Allied Products Exporters Association (BFVAPEA) demanded cargo facilities to Biman Bangladesh Airlines on exporting their products abroad. The BFVAPEA came up with the demand during its Especial General Meeting-2024 organised at Fars Hotel and Resort in the capital on Saturday. The organization’s President SM Jahangir Hossain presided over the meeting General Secretary Mohammad Mansoor and a large number of general members of the organization were present. SM Jahangir said, in order to increase the export of agricultural products, vegetables and fruits by air, the exporters have emphasized on increasing the cargo facilities in Biman. He said, a large amount of foreign currencies can be earned by exporting these agricultural products.
Leaders of the organisation said this industry is a potential sector.
Similarly, if exports were increased, farmers would also be able to ensure fair prices for their products. But it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain air cargo space for export by air. They urge the government to ensure spaces in cargo in the Biman.
