4 to vie for chair, 5 for vice chair

In the Upazila Parishad elections in Bhangura upazila of Pabna, 4 candidates for the post of chairman, 2 for the post of vice chairman and 3 for the post of female vice chairman have submitted their nomination papers.
According to the information of the Assistant Returning Officer, they are the current Upazila Chairman and District Awami League Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Md. Baki Billah, the resigned Mayor of Bhangura Municipality and General Secretary of the Upazila Awami League Golam Hasnain Rasel, District Farmers League Vice President Freedom fighter Mezbahur Rahman (Rose) and Upazila Awami League Vice President Principal Md. Saidul Islam.
Current vice chairman and joint general secretary of Upazila Awami League Golam Hafiz Ranju and former general secretary of Upazila Chhatra League Sajjadur Rahman Tarek submitted nominations for the post of upazila vice chairman. Present Vice Chairman Azida Parveen Pakhi, Kaniz Fatema Rima and Amena Khatun filed nominations for the post of Female Vice Chairman. All of them are the leaders of Upazila Mahila Awami League. No one from BNP, Jamaat and Jatiya Party filed nomination papers in this election.
Assistant Returning Officer and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mst. Nazmun Nahar acknowledged the receipt of the nomination papers submitted online by the mentioned candidates and said that in Bhangura Upazila Parishad elections, candidates will be scrutinized on April 23. April 30 is the last day of withdrawal. Symbol allocation will be held on May 2 and voting will be held on May 21.
