New Nation journo’s father dies

Engineer Firoze Ahmed, father of The New Nation Assistant Editor Farrukh Khosru passed away on Thursday (18 April) at the age of 83.

He breathed his last at 2.50 am at his home in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj.

The 83-year-old had been suffering from various ageing complications.

He was born in Laksamupazila in an aristocratic Muslim family. He left behind threesons, one daughter, friends, relatives, and well-wishers.

Engineer Firoze Ahmed’s first namaj-e-janaza held at Siddhirganj, Narayanganj at 8:00am and second namaj-e-janaza at Laksam in Cumilla after Zohr prayer on Thursday (April 18). His ghaibananamaj-e-janaza held at Canada on Thursday.Then he will be buried at Laksam.

The New Nation team, President of DUJ Sohel Haider Chowdhury and Secretary of DUJ Akter Hossain, Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), have expressed deep sorrow over the death of Engineer Firoze Ahmed and extended deep condolences to the deceased’s family.

The New Nation staffs offered prayers at office in the capital on Thursday.
