Resist anti-liberation forces Says AL

Staff Reporter :

In a recent statement, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister, Obaidul Quader, emphasised the necessity of resisting anti-liberation forces, particularly pointing fingers at the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Quader made these remarks on Wednesday during an event commemorating ‘Mujibnagar Day’, a significant milestone in Bangladesh’s history.

Quader asserted, “BNP is the main impediment on the way to consolidating our victory. Today, all anti-liberation evil forces who are working against the country’s victory and successes will have to be defeated and resisted.”

He underlined the importance of overcoming obstacles posed by these forces to ensure the solidity of the country’s victory and independence.

Speaking to journalists after laying wreaths before the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi-32, Quader labelled the BNP as a communal force. He stressed the necessity for unity among those who cherish independence and democracy to counter this perceived threat.

“Mijibnagar Day’ is a historic day in our national life… We will take an oath today to continue our struggle under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina to build a ‘Sonar Bangla’… a prosperous Bangladesh as dreamt by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” Quader added, emphasising the commitment to realising Bangabandhu’s vision under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The statement by Quader comes amidst a charged political atmosphere, with tensions between the ruling Awami League and the opposition BNP remaining palpable. The rhetoric employed by Quader underscores the deep-seated ideological divisions within Bangladeshi politics and the determination of the ruling party to safeguard what it sees as the achievements of the liberation struggle.
