Another Airbus added to US-Bangla fleet

The second large ‘Airbus 330-300’ joined the US-Bangla fleet at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Saturday.

The Airbus landed at the HSIA at 5:30 am from Guangzhou, China.

The newly added Airbus, with 436 seats, was formally accepted by senior officials of US-Bangla Airlines, said a media release signed by its General Manager (Public Relations) Md Kamrul Islam.

As part of future plans with the new addition, the Airbus will operate on the London, Rome routes along with Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam in Saudi Arabia, reports UNB.

At present, it will be operated on the Dubai, Sharjah, Muscat Doha and Kuala Lumpur routes, it said.

The Airbus 330-300 joined the US-Bangla fleet as the 24th aircraft.

Currently US-Bangla Airlines has two Airbus 330-300, 9 Boeing 737-800, 10 ATR 72-600 and three Dash 8-Q400 aircraft in its fleet, the media release reads.

US-Bangla Airlines is currently operating regular flights on all domestic routes.

Among international destinations, it is flying to Kolkata, Chennai, Male, Muscat, Doha, Dubai, Sharjah, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Guangzhou.il sold beef to 126 countries in 2023.

China and Hong Kong continue to be the top two destinations for Brazilian beef exports.

Foreign Minister Hasan described the visit of the Foreign Minister of Brazil as very significant.

“FBCCI will meet with them. We import edible oil and other products from Brazil.

Our exports to South America remain largely unexplored,” he said.

Hasan said Brazil is a big country, and their purchasing power is also high. “So there is a great opportunity to increase trade relations with them.”

The government of Brazil earlier congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her recent election victory.

Brazil expressed its willingness to continue deepening relations with Bangladesh, in favour of the development of both countries, the promotion of South-South cooperation, and the fight against poverty, hunger, and climate crisis.

Brazil-Bangladesh diplomatic relations, established in 1972, have strengthened in recent years.

In 2023, President Lula and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in South Africa.

Last year, bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Brazil reached the US$2.3 billion mark.
