Severe traffic Jam: Measures taken to ensure hassle-free Eid journey

As both government and some private sectors employees will get a long holiday marking the Eid-ul-Fitr, it is assumed that more people will move to the village this year.

Considering the issue, people especially experts of the country are in serious panic over the traffic situation as well as roads and highways condition.

Recently, Road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Kader said necessary arrangements have been made to make homebound people’s journey ahead of the Eid holidays more comfortable.

Besides, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has said that all measures have already been taken so that Eid holidaymakers can reach their destinations safely.

Apart from this, security measures have been arranged during Iftar and Sehri in such a way that the safety of devotees is not disturbed.

The strict directives have been given to the Traffic Division of the DMP and others concern departments for ensuring hassle-free Eid journey marking the upcoming Eid.

Earlier, DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman assured and ordered the traffic staffs to save the city residents from traffic jams during Ramzan at any cost.

“I have instructed the traffic department to be engaged in ensuring smooth traffic management during the month of Ramadan, as people want to have iftar with their family members,” the DMP commissioner said.

He said that the additional commissioner (traffic) of the DMP, Md Munibur Rahman, joint commissioners, deputy commissioners, and assistant commissioners are engaged at field level to make traffic movement smooth for the common people.
