International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Bangladesh is now on the way to become a Grandmaster. Fahad achieved his first Grandmaster norm from the Hanoi Grandmaster Chess Tournament, which was concluded in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam on Saturday last. Fahad gained seven points out of nine games. Fahad became runners-up in this event. He needs two more Grandmaster norms in 18 games to become Grandmaster. He has to also reach 2500 rating points to become a Grandmaster.
Fahad was struggling to earn a Grandmaster norm. After battling for some years, Fahad achieved his first Grandmaster norm. Fahad wants to gain two more Grandmaster norms within one year.
Fahad said, ” The first Grandmaster norm is very important. I have got confidence after getting the first Grandmaster norm. I shall now try to achieve more two Grandmaster norms as soon as possible. I want to be a Grandmaster within one year.”
He said, ” If I want to be a Grandmaster, I have to play more Grandmasters Chess Tournaments. And it is not an easy task for me. To play Grandmaster Tournaments, I have to manage enough money. Specially, I have to manage the expenditure to go those places, where the Grandmaster tournaments will be held. So, it will be tough task to play in any tournament. But I have got the first norm and I have to play in tournaments with my form. I shall play Russia and Kazakhstan in my next assignments.”
If anybody wants to earn a Grandmaster norm, he has to attained seven points out of nine matches in a Grandmaster Chess Tournament. Besides, the rating points of the opponent players are also a factor.
Fahad Rahman fulfilled all the conditions in Grandmaster Chess Tournament in Hanoi.
