JSD leaders allege AL govt continuing misrule

The ruling party Awami League (AL) government has been continuing misrule after the one-sided general election held on January 7.

Leaders of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) said taht at a protest rally in the city on Saturday.

The JSD leaders called on all opposition political parties to wage movements against the government to compel the ruling AL government to resign from power.

JSD, a partner of the Ganatantra Mancha, organised the rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club protesting at price hikes of essential commodities and killings of Bangladeshi people by the Indian Border Security Force in border areas.

The protest rally was chaired by Dhaka city coordinator Kamal Uddin Patwari chaired the protest rally.

General Secretary of the party Shahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon said, ” Awami League had lost its all old prides and now they are staying in power without mandates of the people and introduced misrule in the country.”

Moreover, the government has failed to control price hikes of essential commodities and also failed to stop killings of Bangladeshi people in the border areas by Indian Border Security Force, Shapon added.

He called on all opposition political parties to wage movements against the government to compel them to resign from power immediately.

Senior vice-president of the party, Tania Rob, said that there was no alternative but to wage movements against the Awami League government to compel it to resign from power.

She called on the people to come down on the streets to put an end to the misrule of the Awami League.

Central leaders of the party, KM Jabir, Mosharraf Hossain, Abdullah Al Tareque, Mosharraf Hossain Montu, Farzana Diba and others spoke at the rally.

The rally was followed by a protest procession that paraded different city roads.
