14 BNP-Jamaat activists detained

Chittagong city and district police in a series of drives detained 14 activists of BNP-Jamaat-Shibir from different areas of Chittagong city and district on Tuesday night.
Naimul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district said police detained 14 activists in overnight raids from various places of Sitakunda, Satkania and Lohagara Upazilas last night.
Bakalia thana police in a series of drives arrested three Islami Chhatra Shibir activists from Landmark residential area under the police station. Police recovered 10 petrol bombs from their possession.
Among the detainees, eight were Jamaat activists, 3 Islami Chhatra Shibir activists and3 BNP activists, the police officer said, adding that they were detained to prevent possible acts of sabotage during country-wide blockade and hartal enforced by BNP-led 20 party alliance.
