Bhangura online cow haat becomes popular!

Online cow market has become popular in Bhanguraupazila of Pabna. There are at least 30 farm-based online cow markets. Cattle breeders of upazila Choubaria-Haropara, Bhabanipur and Diarpara have built this haat in their own farms. They have their own YouTube channel for promotion. In this way, at least 350 cows are bought and sold online in Bhanguraupazila every month. The number of dairy cows is high among them. The estimated value of all cows is Tk.6 crore.
Shahidul Islam Shakil, the owner of Haropara Fresh Dairy and Agro Farm, said that there is a high demand for Holistian, Friesian and Milk Vitar Jersey cows. Besides, bulls and calves are reared for fattening. Online market of these cows has spread all over the country.
Rabiul Islam, the owner of Rabiul Dairy Farm, said that there are 25/30 farm-markets selling cows online in this upazila. Where the price of a cow ranges from Tk 1,80,000 to Tk 3,00,000. They have their own transport to deliver these cows to buyers in different parts of the country.
It is reported that for 14/15 years, those farmers have been buying and selling high breed cows from their farms. Recently, they started buying and selling cows in the online market through YouTube and Facebook. These farm based online haat are very popular now. Besides, buying and selling in cash in the cow markets in the area is very risky and troublesome. There is no such risk online. Locals said, 6/7 cow farmers including Abdul Quader, Rabiul Islam, RanjuMolla, Abdul Gani and Anwar Hossain of Bhabanipur and Haropara villages have become millionaires by buying and selling cows online. It can be seen from the surface, approximately 600 cows are ready for sale in the farms here.
Upazila animal resource officer Dr. Rumana Aktar Romi said, the online cow market of Haropara and Bhavanipur village farmers is now known all over the country. He believes that they are conducting business mainly through online banking transactions.
