6 fake DB police held in Madaripur

Police have arrested six people who were extorting money by posing them as members of the Detective Branch of Police in connection of abduction at Tekerhat area of Madaripur.
Acting Superintendent of Police of Madaripur Kamrul Hasan confirmed this in a press conference on Wednesday noon.
According to police Officials, a businessman named Kajal Bhuiya was picked up in a crowded area in broad daylight and beaten up in a microbus by DB police from Tekerhat port area of Rajoi police station.
Then the gang demanded a ransom of Tk 5 lakhs from victim relatives.
Later, the locals informed the police about the incident.
On information, police rushed to the spot and arrested six people on charges of kidnapping. In this incident, the police filed a case with Rajoi police station on Tuesday night.
Six people were arrested in that case and sent to court on Wednesday (March 13) afternoon.
The Superintendent of Police also said that there are several cases against the kidnappers in different police stations of the country.
Madaripur Additional Superintendent of Police Moniruzzaman Fakir, Additional Superintendent of Police Alaul Hasan and others were present at the press conference.
