Girls’ leadership summit kicks off in Rangpur

The Girls’ Leadership Summit-2004 was commenced in Kurigram with 70 girls and young women from different upazillas of the district. Deputy Commissioner of Kurigram district Mohammad Saidul Arif inaugurated the event on Wednesday as the chief guest.

Led by the Child Not Bride (CNB) project of Plan International Bangladesh, the event took place on the Office premises of RDRS in Kurigram on Wednesday and to continue till Thursday.

Shyamal Chandra Sarkar, Director of Mahideb Jubo Samaj Kallyan Somity (MJSKS) chaired the event. Kabita Bose, Country Director and Afroz Mahal, Director, Programme, Management & Implementation of Plan International Bangladesh, joined the event virtually as special guest.

Head of Central and Northern Region Programmes of Plan International Bangladesh AshiK Billah, Mazbahun Nahar, Project Manager of RDRS Bangladesh were present at the summit as special guests.

The summit started with the welcome speech of Mathilda Mendes, Project Manager of ‘Child Not Bride’ project of Plan International Bangladesh.
