Untidy teachers’ pattern disrupts learning in Bhangura schools

There is an irregularity in teaching in the government primary schools due to a lack of teacher coordination and their transfer in Bhangura Upazila of Pabna. According to the directorate’s policy, there is a provision for posting of teachers in proportion to the number of students in the school and removal of posts from schools with fewer students.
Due to the non-enforcement of this rule, many school teachers are struggling to manage classes with more students. Among these educational institutions, Saratnagar Government Primary School of Bhangura Municipality, Bheramara, Ashtamanisha, Choto Bishakol and Karatakandi Government Primary School at Union level are notable. The number of students in Saratnagar Government Primary School is about 600 but there are only 11 teachers including the Headmaster. There is an availability of 18 teachers to student ratio. But there are some schools where there are a dozen surplus teachers compared to students. Patharghata, Kacharipara and Jhenigari Kalkoti Government Primary Schools are among them.
As per norms one teacher is posted for 30 students. There is supposed to be equal transfer of the concerned teacher from the school of surplus teacher to the school with more students but there is no implementation here.
