Tk. 849cr of Imperial Hospital embezzled

The managing trustee of Chittagong Eye Infirmary and Training Complex Trust (CEITC) Prof Dr. Rabiul Hossain and three others sued for embezzlement of fund. On Thursday, CEITC chairman MA Malek filed the case at Khulshi police station in the city as the plaintiff.
The other defendants in the case are three trustees of the same institution, Md. Mostafizur Rahman (70), Md. Jahangir Alam Khan (80), Kazi Md. Ahidul Alam (66).
In the case, the accused have been accused of misappropriation of huge amount of money in connivance with each other as well as cheating by holding various fake meetings and making false resolutions to cover up the incident.
Investigating officer of the case Khulshi Police Station Sub Inspector (SI) Nurul Abshar told Banglanews that the case was filed on Thursday on the charge of fraudulently embezzling a large amount of money. I have started investigating the case from today .By the way, Prof Dr. Rabiul Hossain served as Managing Trustee of CEITC as Chairman of Imperial Hospitals Limited (IHL). As per CEITC’s articles of association, 51 percent of the directors of the company’s board of directors are elected from the nominees of the Chittagong Eye Infirmary and Training Complex Trust (CEIT).
