Easy win for Khulna Tigers

Khulna Tigers posted an easy five-wicket win over Durdanto Dhaka in the 33rd match of the Ispahani Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, the port city of the country on Friday.

Khulna Tigers collected 10 points from 10 matches, while Durdanto Dhaka remained with two points from 11 matches.

Chasing Dhaka’s paltry total of 128 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs, Khulna Tigers romped home making 131 for the loss of five wickets when they remaining with 28 deliveries.

Khulna had a sorrow start as they lost their two openers for 17 runs.

One-down Parvez Hossain Emon and second-down Shai Hope repaired the damage contributing together 59 runs for the third wicket partnership before Emon was dismissed by Chaturanga de Silva when Khulna’s score was 66 for the loss of three wickets.

Emon hit a polished 40. He hit four sixes and two fours in his 30-ball innings.

After Emon’s dismissal, Shai Hope and Afif Hossain built a worthy partnership scoring together 33 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Hope was dismissed by Taskin Ahmed when Khulna’s total was 99 for the loss of four wickets.

Hope made 32 from 28 balls featuring three fours and a sixer.

After Hope’s departure, Khluna failed to make any notable partnership.

Afif Hossain remained unbeaten with 43 runs. His 21-ball windy innings had four sixes and two fours.

Shoriful Islam and Taskin Ahmed bagged two wickets each instead of 17 and 27 runs, while Chaturanga took one wicket conceding 35 runs.

Dhaka lost their early three wickets for 27 runs.

Second-down Alex Ross and third-down Irfan Sukkur built a notable partnership scoring together 35 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Irfan (25) was dismissed by Mukidul Islam when Dhaka’s total was 62 for the loss of four wickets.

Later, Alex Ross and Mosaddek Hossain made a remarkable partnership adding together 33 runs for the sixth wicket partnership before Alex (25) was run out by a direct throw of Emon when Dhaka’s score was 95 for the loss six wickets.

Mosaddek Hossain (26) was bowled out by Mukidul Islam when Dhaka’s total was 125 for the loss of seven wickets.

Wayne Parnell and Mukidul Islam played the key role to restrict Dhaka to a fragile total.

Parnell and Mukidul Islam grabbed three wickets for 19 and 18 runs respectively. Parnell was adjudged the Man of the Match.
