Tk.1cr embezzled from DBBL agent

An agent banking operation manager of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) at Nikli haor upazila of Kishoreganj allegedly disappeared with amount of one crore taka. Operation Manager Abul Kalam Azad (45) has been accused of embezzling near taka one crore from customers in Dampara in Nikli haor upazila of Kishoreganj. Victims said he also tricked customers into taking deposit receipts by promising to return the money at various times.
Agent bank customers also said that they are not able to take legal recourse as they do not have the receipt of money deposit in their hands. They are in extreme trouble with this. Dutch-Bangla agent banking area manager Farid Hossain said that they searched and found evidence of embezzlement of Tk 20 lakh.
If more money has been embezzled, they do not have any evidence. In this incident, he himself filed a case in the court on January 22 as a plaintiff. The accused Abul Kalam is a UP Member in Dampara Union of Nikli.
