EU envoy meets FS
UNB, Dhaka :
European Union (EU) Ambassador to Bangladesh Pierre Mayaudon on Sunday met Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque and discussed various issues, including the visit of European Parliament’ s Subcommittee on Human Rights.
The envoy also discussed about his meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, likely to be held on Wednesday.
The EP delegation is scheduled to visit Dhaka from February 17 to 20 to observe the human rights situation in the country.
The delegation members are Vice-president of Vice-Chair of the European People’s Party Christian
Dan Preda, members Josef Weidenholzer, and Karol Karski along with two officials and one advisor of the European Parliament.
The delegation will meet Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and Law Minister Anisul Huq.
During their visit, the delegation would also hold meetings with civil society members and NGOs.
