DNCC Mayor to import insecticides to kill mosquitoes

Mayor Atiqul Islam said that BTI Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will directly import insecticides to kill mosquitoes. He stated that mosquito repellents will not be brought from any contractor company anymore.

At a round table meeting , Mayor asked to deal with Aedes mosquito and Aedes mosquito-borne dengue in the areas under the jurisdiction of Dhaka North City Corporation on North City’s preparations and actions at noon on Monday at Nagar Bhaban, Gulshan-2 in the capital.

Atiqul Islam said, we brought 5 tons to BTI. Its price was 70 lakhs. BTI had no problems in the test. Its quality was not low in any way.

Contractor Company has given wrong declaration of country of origin. We have filed a case against the company that brought BTI with the misdeclaration.

He said that, Dhaka North City Corporation will bring directly from BTI producers.

We will not bring BTI through any contractor.

Previous BTI will not be used.

Our lesson learned in buying BTI.

North City Corporation suffered image damage, but no financial loss.

He also added, we have announced the confiscation of that company’s product.

Not a single rupee of 70 lakh rupees was given to that company.

Their security has been confiscated.

That company has been blacklisted.

All necessary action has been taken against the company.
