Khulna Tigers retain winning streak

League leaders Khulna Tigers retained their winning streak after earning a resounding 10-wicket victory over Durdanto Dhaka in the 14th match of the Ispahani Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
After yesterday’s outcome, Khulna Tigers grabbed maximum eight points from four matches, while Durdanto Dhaka earned two points from as many outings.
Electing to bat first, Durdanto Dhaka scored 130 for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Khulna Tigers stormed into the victory target making 131 for the loss of none when they had 34 balls to spare.
Khulna Tigers had a formidable start as their two openers Anamul Haque and Evin Lewis posted 50 runs before Lewis was retired hurt.
After Ewin’s dismissal, Anamul Haque and one-down Afif Hossain powered their team to reach the victory target piling up 81 runs in the unbroken second wicket stand.
Anamul Haque remained unbeaten with 58 runs. His 48-ball innings was studded with four fours and two sixes.
Afif Hossain remained unbeaten with 37 runs. He hit three sixes and one four in his 27-ball knock.
Lewis scored 26 from 13 deliveries including three fours and two sixes.
Duradanto Dhaka made a solid start with two openers Saim Ayub and Mohammad Naim put up 75 runs in the opening stand before Mohammad Naim was dismissed by Afif Hossain.
Naim cracked a windy 41. His 21-ball innings was ornamented with four sixes and two fours.
After Naim’s departure, Dhaka’s batters failed to built any remarkable partnership.
Saim Ayub made 35 from 37 deliveries featuring three sixes and one four.
Third-down Alex Ross scored 21 from 14 deliveries with one four and one six.
Mohammad Nawaz captured three wickets at the cost of 15 runs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match. While Mohammad Wasim and Mukidul Islam bagged two wickets each instead of 13 and 23 runs respectively.
Dasun Shanaka and Afif Hossain took one wicket each for 15 and 25 runs respectively.
