UAE keen to focus BD’s food security

Staff Reporter :
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has demonstrated a keen interest in exploring new avenues of collaboration, particularly in the arenas of food security and the streamlining of visa procedures with Bangladesh.

Emphasising their commitment to bolstering and expanding the already robust bilateral ties between the two nations, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, conveyed congratulatory greetings and best wishes to Foreign Minister, Dr Hasan Mahmud, in a statement made on Monday.

In a letter addressed to Dr. Mahmud, Sheikh Abdullah expressed appreciation for the ‘smooth development’ of UAE-Bangladesh relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1974, underscoring the joint efforts that have contributed to this positive trajectory.

Notably, with 2024 marking the 50th anniversary of UAE-Bangladesh diplomatic relations, the UAE Foreign Minister reiterated his dedication to further cementing and expanding the existing strong bilateral ties.

“I am ready to work with you closely to further enhance and develop the existing good relations”, Sheikh Abdullah wrote.
The UAE Foreign Minister concluded his correspondence by extending best wishes for Dr. Mahmud’s success in his new role and expressing sincere hopes for the continued prosperity and welfare of Bangladesh.

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Dhaka conveyed Sheikh Abdullah’s greetings to Dr. Mahmud, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to fortifying its longstanding partnership with Bangladesh.
