Late engine driver Humayun wished to go to mosque with son

“Wash the panjabi, I will go to the mosque with my son”, these were the last words uttered by the second engine driver of the utility ferry Rajnigandha that sank with vehicles into the river Padma.
Humayun Kabir’s body was buried. Humayun Kabir was buried near his parents’ graves at Matibhanga village in Bhandaria upazila under Pirojpur district on Tuesday.
Former member of UP Mansoor Ali said Humayun grew up with a lot of hardships from childhood. But he was a very good hearted person. We locals made him the president of our mosque. He told us all to come home this Friday. But he became missing on Wednesday January 17 morning after capsized.
Humayun Kabir’s younger brother Rafiqul Islam Shawon said that Humayun Kabir’s body was recovered from the Padma River in Bahadurpur area of Harirampur upazila, about 13 kilometers downstream from Paturia Ferry Ghat on Monday and brought home on Tuesday.
Journalists after visiting the house of Humayun on Wednesday a sensational heart-rending scene was found.
Everyone present was stunned by the lamentation of the wife and children who lost the only earning member of the family. The air was heavy with the cries of the deceased’s wife and relatives.
