South Asia Politics Unhealthy relation between ruling vs opposition parties

Sujayendra Das :

In any democratic setup existing around the globe, we find that there should be a unique equation between ruling and opposition forces.

If we are aware of democratic setup and credence, then we will understand that the basic tenets of modern democratic setup till date look fragile.

In countries under American and European continents, we find equation between ruling vs opposition forces are on a sound wicket.

Whereas analyzing South Asian perspectives, it has been found out that relations between ruling and opposition forces are not at all sound. Rather it continues to brittle with the passing away of each day and moment of our life.

My revered readers might have been able to comprehend that about which nations under the South Asian Sub-Continent light is being thrown upon.

Throwing light upon Bangladesh it is observed by political analysts of that nation and India that scuffling and squabbling between ruling and opposition forces have now become order of the day and moment as the character of modern democracy has progressed all around the globe.

In countries under Western nations where we find relations between ruling and opposition forces are sound. Despite there might be differences of opinion. All these are wiped out after proper across the table interactions between them.

In order to ensure proper democratic governance all political analysts of India and Bangladesh always opine.

That not only ruling forces but also opposition forces of both nations should play proactive roles. Like democracies of other nations of the globe.

We find that there lies unique and amiable equation between ruling forces vs opposition forces. That is the reason democratic maneuvering of those nations of in positive frame of mind.

It is to utter surprising by us that why ruling forces and opposition political forces doesn’t possess sound political equation and amiability between them in both India and Bangladesh.

In order to give proper answer to it, it must be tough and complicated. Despite all the odds, our views in this regard should be that we lack badly in transparency and conviction.

In order to overcome from this complicated and complex phases, both ruling and opposition forces should be openhearted with each other. That means development work should be smoother and transparent.

During the time of parliamentary elections in both India and Bangladesh we find that relationship between ruling and opposition forces stands wide apart between them. What we evince from close quarters that both are well adept in mudslinging upon each other.

Thereby sound governance and democratic processes gets badly retarded.
Prior to parliamentary elections in Bangladesh and India, one point has deeply strikes in our mind.

That total participatory elections should be held in both nations. But how? Proper cohesion and equation should be duly emphasized.

It has been duly emphasized that in the midst of election fever both ruling and opposition forces should be closer intimacy and cordiality between each other.

If there is no intimacy between the above, then how can we expect cooperation between each force? The way we witness sea changes are taking place all over the earth. So in this sphere of things, there should be total emphasizing cordial relations between ruling and opposition forces.

The above views might not be comprehended in its positive frame of mind. But what is apt should be accepted by rational and analytical minded citizens of the globe.

Those who accept the above views will accept. Those not accepting will once upon a time express tantrums.

Thereby our development zeal will come to a grinding halt. Common citizens, including poor cum downtrodden and middle classes sections are worst hit as per development processes are concerned.

In India, BJP is the ruling force and Congress party is the key opposition force. Apart from Indian National Congress, there are various other opposition forces existing in Indian political conglomerations.

Recently they formed collective groups by the name of ‘INDIA’ which is the acronym of ‘Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance’. But we ask questions in our conscience that are the oppositions united in nature and character.

One group demands this amount of seats, whereas other demands more seats. There are well known political and social scientists from India and Bangladesh opined in their various public deliberations.

That the role of politicians are nothing but to grasp powers so that all their personal aims and benefits can be easily met up. They are totally knave as per absolutely and callous as per development of nations and citizens together.

The same scenarios we evince in Bangladesh too. Opposition forces do not look like to have any say like neighboring India. It is surprising to note why those involved into our governance in both nations, doesn’t reminisce the example of Nehru regime.

It was Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as Prime Minister of Independent India, always had the courtesy to setup a noble example with opposition forces.

Similarly Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as President and Prime Minister respectively of Independent Bangladesh always maintained cordiality with opposition forces.

His daughter Sheikh Hasina as Prime Minister of Bangladesh always tries her level best but due to some fissures within her party as well as that of opposition forces, not yet succeeded in her endeavor.

Henceforth it is the reason but a glaring one. The relations between ruling forces vis-à-vis to that of opposite forces are turning rotten and sour with the passing away of each day in our life. This we cannot deny at all. On account of this reason, authoritarian regimes will gain firmly anchored in our democratic setup.
