FBCCI seeks govt support to tackle economic challenges

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) have called for the government’s continued cooperation to further accelerate business, trade and investment in the country, which in turn help them navigate through economic challenges.
FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam made this call in a courtesy meeting with Private Industry and Investment Adviser to Prime Minister Salman F Rahman at the office of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) on Thursday.
The apex organisation leaders congratulated Salman F Rahman, former president of FBCCI, on his reappointment as private industry and investment adviser to the prime minister, read a press release.
Mahbubul Alam expressed the expectation that the government’s cooperation in the development of the private sector will continue in the future as in the past years.
Mahbubul Alam said, “The private sector has come a long way due to the continued cooperation of the government in the past years. FBCCI wants to work to deal with the economic crisis with the cooperation of the government in the future as well.”
Meanwhile, FBCCI president drew government attention to ensuring uninterrupted energy supply to industries, controlling inflation and business operating costs, modernizing the tax structure, keeping bank loan interest at a tolerable level, and simplifying purchase orders for export trade.
Salman F Rahman assured that the government will work more closely with the private sector to improve the business-friendly environment in the country.
