Shoriful believes BPL Cricket will help them in T20 WC

Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam of Durdanto Dhaka believes that Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket will help them for upcoming ICC T20 World Cup (WC). The ICC T20 World Cup will be held in the United States of America and the West Indies from June 1.

Shoriful Islam took part in the practice session with his teammates at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Monday. After the practice session, he talked to the newsmen.

Shoriful Islam said, ” BPL Cricket will help us to perform well in the ensuing ICC T20 World Cup. As T20 World Cup and BPL Cricket will be held in same format (T20 format), so, the BPL Cricket of course help us.

All the participating players and their teams will try to move in the last four of the BPL Cricket. So, the players will try to give their best and show something new. Our target is also to play in the knockout phase and if we can do that, we shall try to move into the final.”

Durdanto Dhaka will play in this year which owner is new one. Last year the Dhaka Dominators took part in the BPL Cricket 2023 and could not cut a brilliant figure.

This year also Durdanto Dhaka are not so strong side. But they are very much serious in their practice sessions.

Durdnato Dhaka took part in their practice session under supervision of Head Coach Khaled Mahmud Sujon at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the capital’s of Mirpur on Sunday.

The cricketers also participated in the practice session at the same venue on Monday.

Earlier, their Head Coach said to the newsmen their target is first to reach the knockout stage. Shoriful also echoed his Coach’s remark.

The left-arm pacer said, ” Thanks to the Almighty, I spent a good period in last year.

Specially, the last six to seven months. I hope I shall return to the New Year through BPL Cricket with a good note.

I shall try to keep my form. There are many events in this year for my country. I shall try to keep my fitness.”

As per recruitment, Durdanto Dhaka are not so strong side.

In this regard, he said, “Thanks to the Almighty we are satisfied with our team. We shall try to battle with our side.

We have Mosaddek Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mohammad Nayeem, Irfan Shukkur and Saif Hasan in our side. We shall try to earn well in the BPL Cricket.”
