Charge hearing against Khaleda on Feb 14

A Dhaka court on Sunday fixed February 14 for hearing on charge framing in 11 cases, including one filed over sedition, against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

Judge Md Asaduzzaman of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka set up at Keraniganj Central Jail fixed the new date and adjourned Sunday’s hearing.

The High Court has suspended the proceedings of most of the cases on behalf of Khaleda Zia. Accordingly, BNP leader Khaleda Zia’s lawyer sought to postpone the hearing.

Among the 11 cases, 10 were filed in the first three months of 2015 over arson attacks, while the other one was filed with a Dhaka court on the charge of making seditious comments on freedom fighters and martyrs of the Liberation War on January 25 of 2016.
