Allegations of 2 pregnant women die from wrong treatment

Two pregnant women along with their newborn baby died from alleged wrong treatment in Ishwardi on Wednesday.
The Pabna Civil Surgeon office has announced the temporary closure of the hospital after getting the complaints. The human chain and protest took place in front of Alo General Hospital on Ishwardi Hospital Road on Wednesday.
Antara Khatun, the pregnant wife of Fazle Rabbi of Ishwardi town area, was admitted to Alo General Hospital on January 4. The owner of the hospital Dr. Masuma Anjuma Dana and her husband Dr. Shafiqul Islam Shamim supervised the operation. As the patient is in critical condition, they referred to sent her Rajshahi Medical College Hospital through the hospital ambulance but she died there.
Besides, on January 6, Mama Al Amin alleged that Zima Khatun, the daughter of Ahmad Hossain in Sara Jhowdia area, died due to wrong treatment by the doctors of the same hospital.
Relatives alleged that the patient died due to improper anesthesia and wrong treatment. They complained about this and did not get any remedy on Wednesday. At around 12 noon, the protest march started from the front of Fazle Rabbi’s house and they went in front of Alo General Hospital and tried to form a human chain. However, the hospital authorities led by an employee of the hospital attacked and beat them. Later they formed a human chain in front of Ishwardi police station and press club.
The patient’s husband Fazle Rabbi and mother-in-law Jannatul Ferdous Runu said, “The hospital authorities asked us to go outside to buy medicine for the cesarean.” We come and find the patient has already been taken to the operation theatre. The operation is arranged for the patient with their medicine without taking our medicine. During and after the operation the patient was scouting because the anesthesia is not done properly.
